Q: Who can apply?
A: The Beethoven Award is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities. All instruments, voice, chamber ensembles, and composition are welcome.
Q: Is Beethoven repertoire required?
A: No. You may choose any piece by any composer. The competition welcomes a wide range of repertoire.
Q: How does the “risk-free competition” formula work?
A: The competition has two stages. The Preliminary Round is free of charge: you submit your video and the jury selects the most promising candidates. Only those invited to the Final Round decide whether they wish to continue. If you choose to enter the Final Round, a prize is guaranteed – every finalist becomes a laureate.
Q: What is the deadline for applications?
A: The deadline for the Preliminary Round is 17 January 2026.
Q: How do I submit my application?
A: Simply fill in the online application form, provide a link to your performance video (YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platform), and submit your details.
Q: What are the prizes?
A: Laureates receive digital diplomas at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, as well as Special Awards. Platinum Laureates are awarded a €200 cash prize. All finalists receive recognition, and winners are promoted internationally through Universal Music Society (UMS), featured in interviews, and presented with individual achievement posters.
Q: Do teachers receive recognition?
A: Yes. On request, teachers may receive Teacher Appreciation Diplomas for their support and guidance.
Q: How much is the entry fee?
A: The Preliminary Round is free. The Final Round has a participation fee – €89.50, which applies only to candidates who advance and choose to continue.
Q: Do I need to travel?
A: No. The competition is entirely online. You only need to submit your performance video.
